A camcorder is an electronic device combining a video camera and a video recorder, used for video recording. The term “camcorder” is used to describe a portable, self-contained device with video capture and recording its primary function. Camcorders have three major components: lens, imager and recorder. Camcorders are often classified by their storage device; VHS, VHS-C, Betamax, Video8 are the examples of 20th century videotape based camcorders which record video in analog form.
Video camera:
Video camera is a camera used to make electronic motion pictures. It captures moving images and synchronous sound. Video cameras were invented early in the 20th century for television use and by the end of the century; people could buy digital video cameras which can almost immediately display the image. At first, video cameras were large and expensive. Only professionals operated them.
