An author is the person who creates his own ideas. An author can get the work be copyrighted. The author refers to the people who write books, stories, articles, etc. professionally. A writer writes as long as possible.
Writer:
Writer is the person who writes books and articles and gets his work published. A writer creates novels, news article, essays, screen plays, short stories and poetry. It might be fictional or non-fictional.
