Mountain:
A mountain is a large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area usually in the form of peak. A mountain is generally steeper than a hill. Mountains are formed through tectonic forces or volcanism. The Highest Mountain on the Earth is Mount Everest with an altitude of 8850 m.
Hill:
A hill is a landform that extends above a surrounding terrain. It may refer to a particular section of a flat terrain without a massive summit. It is less steep than a mountain. Hills may form through geomorphic phenomena: faulting, erosion of larger landforms such as mountains and movement and deposition of sediment by glaciers.
