A name is a word or term used of identification. Names can identify a class or category of things; or a single thing, either uniquely or within a given context. A personal name identifies, not necessarily uniquely, a specific individual human.
Nick name:
A nick name is the name added or substituted for the proper name of a person, place, etc. as in affection, ridicule or familiarity. A moniker also means a nickname or personal name. The word often distinguishes personal names form the nicknames that became proper names out of former nicknames.
